A letter from the past -- 1904

My Grand Ma wrote this letter to my Grand Pa before they were married . Grand pa was working in an other state and they missed each other very much . He must have kept it and brought it home with him . I found it in my Mom's things after she passed on .
If Grand Ma only knew that a letter she wrote when she was 18 would mean so much to her family .
This is their wedding picture .
They must have been in their 50's in this picture .
Grand pa passed a short time later .

Grand pa was a very hard worker .
He worked at a Creosote plant , treating railroad ties .

They didn't have electric or an inside bath room ,
but had an out house with a catalog handy to read or well you know what that's for .
Always a bucket of lime to put down the hole to cut down on the smell .

Mom was their first born .

They had a big happy family .
Grand pa passed in his 50's when I was 2 months old and Grand ma in her 70's . I was 15 and that was so hard on me , I loved her so much .
I was blessed to have her that long .

That letter and pictures are treasures. I have done a heritage book with pictures and information going back to my great, great grandfather when he immigrated from the Netherlands. I find these things very interesting.
