Teens and others praying before a candle lite walk on a very cold windy evening in November 2007 to remember an Orrville studant named David that passed of cancer . I was there that cold windy evening .
I will never forget .

Prayer after the walk .

There were between 175 to 200 Orrville teens and others in the walk .

After reading this prayer I wanted to share it with all of you .
God Bless the 15yr old kid that wrote this .

15yr old Arizona Kid wrote this being upset about our new school policies

Because the word 'God' is mentioned....
A kid in Arizona wrote

NEW School prayer :
Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.

If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.

We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks..
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's 'inappropriate' to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such 'judgments' do not belong.

We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.

It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess..
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
Amen

If you aren't ashamed to do this,
Please pass this on.
Jesus said,
'If you are ashamed of me,
I will be ashamed of you before my Father.'

Not ashamed.

It's sad to say it, but this poem is true.

so sad it is, but in some cases so true. Whenever i hear of such a young life taken by this disease, it breaks my heart, i have 3 teen girls.

It is amazing that one so young can recognize the truth...but ones who should have wisdom--they don't have a clue.

This poem is so true. I see all of this when I sub and the way they are brainwashing our youth. It breaks my heart! I have been away from blogging and wanted to stop in and see how you are doing.

Hi there Mary~ thank you for visiting today!
I don't recall emailing you, but I may have?!

I'm sorry to hear of the boy with cancer, how sad. The vigil was very pretty.

This poem is awesome. It's a shame it's true. I'm glad I live in a small town and our school aren't *that* bad yet... but I bet by the time Nova is old enough they will be. : (

What gorgeous eyes your new kitten has!

And Happy belated Anniversary!
